Key responsibilities

WE ARE
CNECT.H.1 "Cybersecurity Technology and Capacity Building" is responsible for developing and
implementing EU policies and tools on cybersecurity, thus contributing to Europe’s digitisation and
strategic autonomy, in line with the EU Cybersecurity Strategy. Our work concerns ongoing and
future EU initiatives such as the EU Toolbox on 5G cybersecurity, Cyber Solidarity Act, including the
development of the European Cybersecurity Alert System consisting of National and Cross -border
Cyber Hubs (SOCs) as well as coordinating EU investments for cybersecurity reseach and
innovation . Moreover, the unit also acts as Commission interface with the EU Cybersecurity Agency
(ENISA) and the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre (ECCC) as well as interacts with other
important actors in the EU cybersecurity ecosystem, such as the NIS Cooperation Group. We are a
multidisciplinary team at the intersection of legislation, policy and research/innovation, working to
improve trust and security in the digital environment. The unit is dynamic, committed, team -
oriented and has a friendly atmosphere.
WE PROPOSE
An interesting post in the unit secretariat, performing a variety of general secretarial tasks, and
assuming administrative responsibilities in order to ensure the smooth administration of the unit.
We offer a challenging but rewarding and interesting job covering both organisational and
administrative duties.
Unit secretariat:
- support the Head of Unit and Policy Officers, by agenda and document management, written
(email) and telephone communication with stakeholders, management of the functional
mailbox(es) of the unit and of mailing and distribution lists, follow -up of files in circulation and 4CNECT/COM/2026/1774
attribution and registration of documents .
- assist in the organisation of meetings, including booking rooms, preparing documentation,
catering and visitor access , providing logistic support before and during the meeting etc.
Support to unit organisation:
- HR management support , e.g. for the onboarding and recruitment of officials, contract agents,
interim staff and trainees .
- act as doc ument management correspondent: register, file and distribute documents and manage
correspondence .
- organisation of business trips .
- briefing coordination: receive, assign and monitor briefing requests .
- process training requests and monitor participation.
The DG values and promotes cross -sectoral work. The jobholder may therefore be called to
contribute to various tasks and projects in line with the needs of the unit, the directorate or the DG,
as guided by the DG’s political priorities.
WE LOOK FOR
We are looking for an autonomous, motivated, dynamic, proactive and well -organised person with
good secretarial and administrative skills and a high sense of initiative and responsibility. Good
planning, attention to details and the ability to perform multiple tasks and adjust to changing
priorities are essential. Good communication and interpersonal skills, friendly nature and strong
team spirit will help the successful candidate to quickly integrate in the unit. We are looking for a
colleague able to work under pressure, who will contribute to the successful completion of our
tasks. Knowledge of the essential Commission IT systems ( such as Ares, MIPS, Sysper, Decide, Basis
etc.) is an asset, professional use of MS Office is required . The candidate should be able to work in
an English -speaking environment. Knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantage.

- Are a citizen of a Member State of the EU and enjoy full rights as a citizen

Qualifications:
In order to be recruited for this position, you must have at least
- a level of post -secondary education attested by a diploma, or
- a level of secondary education attested by a diploma giving access to post -secondary
education , and appropriate professional experience of at least three years .
Only qualifications issued or recognised as equivalent by EU Member State authorities (e.g. by the
Ministry of Education) will be accepted. Furthermore, before recruitment, you will be required to
provide the documents that corroborate the eligibility criteria (diplomas, certificates and other
supporting documents).
Languages:
have a thorough knowledge (minimum level C1) of one of the 24 official languages of the

➢ What about the selection steps?
Salary at this grade
Basic monthly salary at AST-SC1 runs from €3,292 (step 1) to €3,725 (top step), giving an annual range of roughly €39,504 to €44,700 before tax and allowances. Steps increase automatically every two years; the figures here are taken from the salary grid in the EU Staff Regulations.
Eligible staff posted away from their country of nationality also receive an expatriation allowance worth 16% of basic salary (around €527 per month at step 1 of AST-SC1) together with household, dependent-child, and education allowances where applicable.
