The EU institutions recruit across more than thirty professional domains, from policy areas such as climate action, agriculture, and economic affairs through to support functions in IT, human resources, communication, and law. Each domain is owned by one or more Directorates-General within the European Commission and by the specialist agencies established to deliver policy on the ground: the European Environment Agency for the environment, ESMA for financial markets, the EUAA for asylum, and so on.
