WE ARE
Unit HR.DS.3’s mission is to ensure a high level of technical and physical security in all
Commission premises in Belgium and Luxembourg. In particular, the Unit is responsible for:
- Installation and maintenance of technical security systems and equipment.
- Access control and issuance of access cards.
- Information technology of security systems.
- Global security projects.
- Implementing infrastructure-based security improvements.
HR.DS.3 is currently composed of around 60 colleagues across Brussels and Luxembourg.
WE PROPOSE
We are offering a job with key support role within the unit, providing administrative,
organisational and coordination support to the management of the Luxembourg team while
contributing to the efficient functioning of the unit as a whole. The position offers close
collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders across the Commission and the opportunity to
support efficient ways of working through the effective use of corporate systems as well as
Microsoft 365 applications.
WE LOOK FOR
We are looking for a proactive and well-organised professional with at least two years of strong
experience in administrative support, coordination or office management. 4
The successful candidate should have strong organisational skills and be able to manage
competing priorities, coordinate meetings and administrative processes, follow up on deadlines, and
prepare clear and accurate correspondence and documents. The candidate should be comfortable
working with Microsoft 365 and corporate administrative and document-management systems,
and able to collaborate effectively with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders.
The successful candidate should have (very) good oral and writing skills in English (level C1) and
French (level B2).
The role requires discretion, accuracy and a high degree of professionalism, particularly when
handling sensitive information. We are looking for someone who works proactively and
autonomously while contributing positively to a team, is open to change and is interested in
improving administrative processes, information sharing and ways of working.
The successful candidate must either be a holder of a valid security clearance up to the level of "SECRET UE/EU SECRET" or be willing to undergo the national security vetting procedure. 5

You must meet the following eligibility criteria when you validate your application :

General criteria:
- Are a citizen of a Member State of the EU and enjoy full rights as a citizen
- Have fulfilled any obligations imposed by applicable laws concerning military service
- Are physically fit to perform the duties linked to the post
- Produce the appropriate character references as to suitability for the performance of the duties.
Qualifications:
In order to be recruited for this position, you must have at least
- a level of post-secondary education attested by a diploma, or
- a level of secondary education attested by a diploma giving access to post-secondary education, and appropriate professional experience of at least three years.
Only qualifications issued or recognised as equivalent by EU Member State authorities (e.g. by the Ministry of Education) will be accepted. Furthermore, before recruitment, you will be required to provide the documents that corroborate the eligibility criteria (diplomas, certificates and other supporting documents).
Languages:
have a thorough knowledge (minimum level C1) of one of the 24 official languages of the EU 2
- AND a satisfactory knowledge (minimum level B2) of a second official language of the EU, to the extent necessary for the performance of the duties.

The post was published internally within the Commission, inter-institutionally, and brought to the attention of competition laureates.
In accordance with Article 29 of the Staff Regulations, applications from Commission officials, officials from other Institutions, and laureates of competitions have priority 3.If these candidates do not best fit the requirements for the position, the Commission can recruit a temporary agent.
For temporary agents under Article 2(a) of the Conditions of Employment of Other
Servants , the post is published directly on the EPSO website, without mandatory prior
internal publication.
A selection panel will choose a limited number of candidates for interview, based on the CV and application form that they submitted. Due to the large volume of applications, we may receive,
only candidates selected for the next step of the selection phase will be notified.
For operational reasons and in order to complete the selection procedure as quickly as possible in the interest of the candidates and of the institution, the selection procedure will be carried out in both English and French.
2. Recruitment
The candidate selected for recruitment will be requested to supply documentary evidence in support of the statements made in their application.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a mandatory pre-recruitment medical check-up, carried out by the Commission.
Salary at this grade
Basic monthly salary at AST-SC1 runs from €3,292 (step 1) to €3,725 (top step), giving an annual range of roughly €39,504 to €44,700 before tax and allowances. Steps increase automatically every two years; the figures here are taken from the salary grid in the EU Staff Regulations.
Eligible staff posted away from their country of nationality also receive an expatriation allowance worth 16% of basic salary (around €527 per month at step 1 of AST-SC1) together with household, dependent-child, and education allowances where applicable.
