Within Directorate TAXUD.B, unit TAXUD.B2 is responsible for Digital, Data Policies and AI, the preparation of the EU Customs Data Hub in the context of EU Customs Reform and the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) Registry deployment and management. TAXUD.B2 employs 25 officials supported by approximately 35 proximity IT consultants with a yearly budget is around 65 million EUR, and all operational services are outsourced in near EU shore. Directorate B is modernising its digital outsourcing model opting for Agile, DevSecOps, SaaS & Cloud hosting End-To-End procurement schemes exploring synergies with other EC corporate Services procurement schemes.
The vacant post is in the TAXUD.B2 Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism CBAM team. The team consists of 20 people. The team is responsible for the maintenance of the CBAM Transition system and CBAM definitive system delivery. **WE PROPOSE**
TAXUD.B2 is seeking a dynamic, motivated contractual agent with a delivery mindset to join the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) delivery team to assist in the implementation and integration of CBAM Definitive System Registry Declaration Lifecycle Management component.
The successful candidate will ensure successful system delivery, ensuring specification / design /development completeness as well as system deployment and operations, meeting quality standards, He/she will plan, manage and follow up some or all activities (architecture, specifications, development, tests, implementation, deployment, etc.). The successful candidate will ensure the delivery of the project according to the agreed schedule/Project Work Plan, scope, with the expected quality. He/she will escalate issues, risk and in particular the ones with potential impacts on quality, time, resources or business stakeholders. He/she will be acting as assistant of Project manager and will be participate in coordinating definition of the scope & requirements from the business Units.
The candidate will be expected to ensure quality and review technical deliverables from contractors (functional/ technical specification, design, testing, deployment, etc) or other project stakeholders; As well as evaluate technical offers of TAXUD contractors and vendors.
He/she will be responsible for identification of all internal interfaces between CBAM Lifecycle Management component and other CBAM components as well as interfaces between CBAM and external systems. He/she will coordinate with CBAM Architects to ensure that design meets the needs, with Test Manager(s) to ensure completeness of testing, and with Transition and Operational manager to ensure readiness for operation and proper end users onboarding.

Salary at this grade
Basic monthly salary at FGIII runs from €3,476 (step 1) to €3,932 (top step), giving an annual range of roughly €41,712 to €47,184 before tax and allowances. Steps increase automatically every two years; the figures here are taken from the salary grid in the EU Staff Regulations.
Eligible staff posted away from their country of nationality also receive an expatriation allowance worth 16% of basic salary (around €556 per month at step 1 of FGIII) together with household, dependent-child, and education allowances where applicable.
