WE ARE
As the science and knowledge service of the European Commission, the Joint Research Centre
provides independent, evidence -based knowledge and science, supporting EU policies to positively
impact society. We provide anticipatory capacity, solid expertise and ability to propose and
implement interdisciplinary research. The activities are carried out in collaboration with relevant
Commission Services, national and international organisations and stakeholders. At the JRC we
organise our work in portfolios which are the main building blocks of our multi -annual work
programmes. The JRC is located in five Member States (Belgium, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands

The current vacancy is in unit JRC.R.3, Operations and Support Management Geel. The mission of
unit R.3 is to support and coordinate the implementation of resource management functions on the
specific JRC Site in a client responsive manner and in compliance with all applicable rules and
regulations acting as a focus of resource management support to the Directorate of the respective
Site. The unit provides technical support for the JRC scientific programmes and develops and
maintains the infrastructure of the Geel site.
WE PROPOSE
We are offering a Financial Agent position within the Finance & Procurement team. In this role, you
will manage financial administrative/scientific expenditures and contracts by examining and
preparing cost -statements for acceptance and establishing financial documents (commitments,
payments, recoveries, contracts). You will also prepare the authorisations of expenditure and
income on budget and/or imprest accounts.

WE LOOK FOR
We are looking for a motivated, well -organised and proactive colleague with at least one year of
relevant professional experience in finance and procurement. Experience with the Summa financial
system and eProcurement applications would be an asset.
You should be able to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a team,
under the supervision of the Team Leader. You show a strong sense of responsibility, good
interpersonal skills, and a service - and results -oriented approach. You take initiative and carry out
your work accurately, with attention to detail.
A very good command of English and of another EU official language is essential ; knowledge of
Dutch is an advantage.
Ability to use digital and AI -enabled tools, in compliance with EU data protection and information
security, is considered an advantage.

Qualifications:

Salary at this grade
Basic monthly salary at AST-SC1 runs from €3,292 (step 1) to €3,725 (top step), giving an annual range of roughly €39,504 to €44,700 before tax and allowances. Steps increase automatically every two years; the figures here are taken from the salary grid in the EU Staff Regulations.
Eligible staff posted away from their country of nationality also receive an expatriation allowance worth 16% of basic salary (around €527 per month at step 1 of AST-SC1) together with household, dependent-child, and education allowances where applicable.
